Three CAF referees needed by Sept 2028: 1 academic-or-employment, 1 non-academic, 1 free choice. No family; close friends strongly discouraged. Referees answer specific CAF questions (would they make a good physician; rate communication, problem-solving, professionalism, empathy; one area of improvement) — they need extensive personal knowledge, which is built over years, not asked for in September of application year.

Cultivation Rules
- Two professors per term in office hours with real questions (the gaps.md queue supplies them — the tutoring system literally generates office-hours material).
- Same prof across multiple courses/years beats five one-term acquaintances.
- Non-academic slot grows out of sustained volunteer/employment entries in activity-log — pick organizations with stable supervisors.
- By April 2028, three names in the CAF-ready column. Ask by Sept 15, 2028.
